Leak Detection

Compressed air leaks can commonly account for 20% to 50% of a plant’s total compressed air consumption.  Frequently, fixing leaks is as simple as tightening a loose connector and as such can provide an extremely attractive payback period. 

Energy NZ has a number of staff members who hold the UEQ-TC-1A certification (Recommended Practice for Personal Qualification and Certification in Airborne Ultrasound) for ultrasonic air leak detection. 

Air leaks are tagged, with annual energy use and cost accurately estimated using a combination of airborne ultrasonic, inline ultrasonic and three phase power data logging technologies.
